Victoria Cameron, Ashtyn Lewis, Jasmine Franklin Get Wins



UIL 4A Girls 100m

The fastest time of 11:49 was turned in by Victoria Cameron a senior from Stephenville who is also your reigning silver medalist from the UIL State Meet in 2022.

Cameron took control from the start knowing she wanted to add that gold medal to her collection and she never looked back, smashing the competition and winning with a time of 11:35.

Carde Moore, a junior from Houston North Forest would begin to move into second about 50 meters in but there was no catching Cameron. Moore held on to capture the silver with a time of 11:89.

Baleigh Cashion, a junior from Paris edged out Kennedy DeHorney from Dallas Carter to capture third place with a time of 12:06.




UIL 4A Girls 400m

Ashtyn Lewis, just a freshman from Iowa Colony, had the fastest time from regionals coming into the state meet.

It was a smooth start with perfect weather for this 400m race. Lewis took it out really well followed by Roselyn Spencer from Paris North Lamar.

With just two hundred meters to go Lewis blew the competition away hitting another gear and capturing the gold with a time of 55:74. With 50 meters to go there were 5 girls vying for the next two spots, but who would get them? 

Treasure Vallerie a senior from San Antonio Kennedy leaned across the finish line to capture the silver with a time of 57.34 and Teresa Malone a freshman from Houston Washington finished in 3rd place with a time of 57.41.



UIL 4A Girls 200m

Diamond Barrett, a senior from Royal was 4th last year at the state meet and Jasmine Franklin from Paris comes in with the top seed time. These two are ones to watch out for.

It was a tight race from start to finish with Barrett taking off fast in the middle of the track but immediately met a challenge with Franklin in lane 6.

Franklin held off the rest of the field coming in first with a wind-legal time of 24.26, Alaya Huckabee a senior from Kennedale challenged at the end and captured the silver medal with a time of 24.41, and Barrett finished in third place with a time of 24.54.
