4x100 Relay

In this loaded field was the defending silver medalist Fort Bend Marshall with Lancaster coming in as your defending bronze medalist. The fastest time from regionals was Burleson Centennial with a 46.40.

At the first exchange it was Lancaster and Killeen making a clean exchange and handing off the baton first.

Lancaster and Killeen continued with their dominance at the second exchange with Mansfield Timberview and El Paso Chapin trying to make a move to see who would get on the podium.

Lancaster with a dominant performance blew the field away and won the gold medal with a time of 46.08. At first, second and third place were too close to call with the naked eye, but we soon found out that Killeen edged out the competition and captured the silver with a time of 46.41. Mansfield Timberview was close behind with a time of 46.42 to receive the bronze.

4x200 Relay

In a race that brought back the top four teams from a year ago and featured four teams (Lancaster, Smithson Valley, Burleson Centennial and Mansfield Timberview) who had season best times of 1:38.10 or better heading into the 5A Girls 4x200m final, it lived up to the billing.

Over the first two exchanges, it was Mansfield Timberview and Smithson Valley going back-and-forth. Timberview's Taylor Fingers was first to the initial exchange zone, but then SV's Favour Uduji returned the favor and was first to the second exchange zone.

Heading into the final exchange, last year's champion Lancaster had gained the lead in lane 7. However, Smithson Valley's Alyssa Jones unleashed a memorable anchor leg. It looked like she had no chance to run down Lancaster with 70 meters to go, but she found an extra gear and crossed the tape in 1:37.69.

Lancaster finished in second with a time of 1:38.19 and McKinney North grabbed the bronze medal in 1:38.52.

4x400 Relay

The 200m state champion Alyssa Jones got Smithson Valley out to a great start and she handed off even with Red Oak and Fort Bend Marshall.

Coming off the turn, Lovejoy joined the pack and then surged into the lead building it into about five meters. They handed off with Smithson Valley close behind them.

At the final exchange it was nearly dead even with Jazmyn Singh and Kailey Littlefield anchoring their teams. Singh took control to get the win and earn the 4x400 win as well as the overall team title.
