Following another fantastic season of Texas track and field, we'd like to applaud and thank everyone involved in making it happen.
Thank you to the athletes, coaches, meet directors, parents, administrators, the timers, the coaching associations around Texas, the SPC, TAPPS, the UIL and more.
With national level postseason track and field meets going on this weekend we decided to unveil our All-State track and field teams. We'll be soon following with the boys team.
To guide our decisions, we placed the most value on making it to the the respective state meets and the time, distances heights and finishing places from those events. We also considered national and big meet performances up to this point. In some instances, some athlete weren't allowed to finish the season due to injury. Those athletes were considered on case by case basis.
We picked nine for each event because the UIL state meet allows nine for the state finals and the honorable mentions were up to four selections including a freshman of the year. Athletes who excelled in multiple events were chosen to the team for only one event.
