The 2023 UIL 6A boys championship race
The 2023 110 meter hurdle competitors this year were masterful. An unbelievable amount of over 20 boys ran sub 14.0 (all conditions) this season with 11 of them going under 13.70.

Technique is paramount when it comes to the short hurdles, but much of the increased improvement to this group could possibly be attributed to the increased speed many of them experienced this season.

Alexander Chukwukelu, who was a masterful technician picked up the 200m event making it to the Region 2-6A finals in the event and getting his time down to 21.46. Jayden Keys who is also well known for his jumping ability also improved in the 200m going 22.18.

Others like Donovan Bradley, Arveyon Davis, and Mason Dossett have played important roles on their teams relays have continued to improve their speed. View the table below to see which hurdlers have dabbled in the sprint events and see how they did in them.
