Michael Pinones (San Antonio East Central) - Senior

Pinones had an off day at this year's Texas Relays. When a 61-9 toss and fourth place at a major invitational is an off day, then life is pretty good. After that, he went on to throw 63-3.25, 65-3.5, and 66-6.25 (US No. 1) in his next three meets. Pinones ended the season with a  65-11.50 to win the UIL 6A state meet, 63-8.25 at the TTFCA Meet of Champions, and then he threw 65-11 at the Nike Outdoor Nationals to win the national championship.

David Wilson III (Hurst Bell) - Senior

Wilson only lost to one person this year and that was the top thrower in the nation, Michael Pinones. He ranks US No. 2 with his 66-2.25 that won him the UIL 6A - Region 1 title. Wilson's shortest winning throws this year were 56-10 and 58-5.50 in February; he ended the season with a 62-11 at the UIL 6A state meet.

Daniel Sowell (Austin Lake Travis) - Senior

Sowell ended the year ranked US No. 4 in the shot put with his 63-1.25 behind Michael Pinones at the Region 4-6A meet. Sowell went on for a third place finish at the UIL 6A state meet with a 61-2.50. He threw over 57 feet in each of his last 10 meets and was the runner-up at TTFCA Meet of Champs.

Brandon Schirck (Friendswood) - Junior

Schrick is becoming an all around throwe with his throwing at Nike Outdoor Nationals where he threw the shot, discus (2nd place finish), and the hammer. In the shot, he only threw over 60 feet once and that was a 62-3.75 best toss at Texas Relays to finish third overall. He did have three 59 footers with one of them 59-9.75 for a runner-up finish at the UIL 5A state meet.

Alberto Archundia (Friendswood) - Junior

Archundia had two throws over 58 feet including the 58-10 to capture the UIL 5A state meet third place finish. He was runner-up at Region 3-5A and was the area winner.
