HOW TO REGISTER

On Sept. 9, some of the best cross country teams across the state of Texas will take to the course at South Lakes Park in Denton, Texas for the Garmin MileSplit TX XC Invitational, hosted by Denton Guyer. Since its inception, the event has shaped up to be one of the best early/mid-season meets in the highly-competitive Texas cross country landscape. It has also consistently included state championship teams from Arkansas, California, Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

MileSplit will be on site to report on the exciting action bound to go down, with interviews, photos, articles and other comprehensive event coverage.

Last time out in 2022, the event saw numerous eye-catching performances, including impressive wins by eventual Texas 5A individual state champion McKenzie Bailey formerly of Georgetown (TX) in the girls elite race in 17:56.20 and Arkansas state meet individual runner-up (Bentonville - AR) talent James American Horse out of the boys elite field in 15:32.00.

The team races proved intriguing as well. The Bentonville girls won the event on their way to eventually taking the Arkansas 6A state team title. Their leader and 2022 third place individual finisher Haley Loewe won the Arkansas 6A individual state championship and is the top returner from last year's MileSplit elite girls race. The Bentonville's boys also won the boys elite division on their way to the Arkansas 6A team state championship.

Additionally, in the boy's elite division was Texas 4A team state champion Canyon  in third place, Arkansas team runner-up Fayetteville was fourth, and Louisiana state meet third place finisher Ruston was fifth place.

The 2023 installment of the Garmin MileSplit TX XC Invitational will look to feature exciting competition yet again.
