Addison Hite (Pilot Point) is the defending UIL 3A cross country state champion and Taylor Grona (Fredericksburg) is last year's 4A runner-up. The two are elite Texas runners and matched up for an exciting 1-4A race.
Both girls have been running their fare share of 5Ks and now that the second half of the year is here, they dropped down to the two mile at McNeil.

Throughout the entire race, the two runners were barely separated and ran nearly step-by-step.
Hite got the win in 11:26 with Grona just two seconds behind in 11:28. they led three other girls under twelve-minutes when Ann Claire Cop (Fredericksburg) followed in 11:48, Aimee Clark (Celina) finished in 11:53, and Liana Navarro (La Feria) was fifth in 11:56.
