This track and field season, MileSplit TX will bring you new series called Under The Radar. We will attempt to identify student-athletes who may not have been appropriately evaluated by college coaches and who are not heavily recruited. These will be student-athletes we think will be assets on the collegiate level.

I remember the day when a distance runner with a resume including 9:20 in the 3,200m and in the 15:30s for 5,000m would make a fairly heavily recruited athlete.
The student-athletes today are getting faster by the hour and they are making fast look easy.
One member of the class of 2024 is training hard, trying to improve, and enjoying every step of the process. However, there is one thing Flower Mound senior distance runner Avinash Patel is looking for -- and that is an opportunity.
Patel has improved every year and heading into his final high school semester, he has personal bests of 2:02, 4:26, 9:20, and 15:37.
Patel is looking forward to the upcoming track and field season and we believe he is an under the radar recruit.
