Falyn Lott soared in the long jump
A year ago, Falyn Lott lost the State title by one inch in the UIL 4A girls long jump. This year, the Frisco Panther Creek senior took home the gold medal as she was the only athlete to jump past 19-feet.
Lott took over the top spot on her second jump when she posted a mark of 18-5.5 and then she extended her lead on her third attempt of 19-0.25. She had to hold her breath a little bit on the final attempts when Jade Williams of Huffman Hargrave went out to 18-8 and Arieanna Jefferson of Ferris jumped 18-8.25 but both came up a little short as they earned the silver and bronze medals.
Lott had two jumps that each would have won the competition. Her fifth attempt was good for 18-10.75. The victory gives Lott and gold and silver medal on the day after she was also the runner-up in the high jump. She is also entered in the 100mH and 300mH. In a related note, her brother Jalen won the UIL 4A boys State title in long jump.
