4A Boys 100m
In 2023, Gilmer's Will Henderson and La Grange's Austen Diggs both medaled in the 4A boys 100m. The two were neck-and-neck throughout the race with Henderson holding a slight advantage throughout to bring home his second straight gold medal. Henderson crossed the tape in 10.40 while Diggs finished in 10.43.
Earlier in the meet, Henderson anchored the the winning Gilmer 4x100m relay team to its second straight State title and now he has won the 100m in back-to-back years. He was also the runner-up as a sophomore in 2022.
Diggs moved up from a bronze medal in 2023 to a silver medal in 2024. Jayden Warren of Iowa Colony nabbed the bronze medal with a time of 10.59, a fraction ahead of Dallas Lincoln's Byron Eaton who crossed the line in 10.60.

UIL 4A Boys 400m
Lindale's Colter Maya has been nearly unbeatable in his career. Despite facing a loaded field that included four of the top five finishers from last year, Maya dominated the UIL 4A boys 400m and finished in 46.58 giving him back-to-back State titles. His only loss in the event came two years ago when he finished as runner-up in the State championship.
Maya's biggest rival has become Wharton's Jacorric Allen who finished with a great time of 47.09. Allen has moved up one spot each year at the State meet finishing fourth as a freshman, third last year and now second. He will have one more chance next year to best Maya.
Jay Castillo of Snyder grabbed the bronze medal with a finish of 48.04.

UIL 4A Boys 200m
In a race that featured athletes who competed in the 100m, 110mH and 400m, it was Aubrey's Tyler Brown staging a furious rally in the end who brought home the gold medal in the UIL 4A Boys 200m.
Brown got out of the blocks quickly, but La Grange's Austen Diggs, last year's State champion, took over on the curve and appeared to be headed to a second straight title. In the final 30m, Brown was able to run down Diggs and win in 20.72 and Diggs came across in 20.77 which was faster than he ran in 2023.
Iowa Colony's Jayden Warren took home the bronze medal with a time of 21.07 while Lago Vista State 110mH champion Swayde Griffin had to settle for fourth place. The second place finish gave Diggs his second silver medal of the competition matching his finish in the 100m.
