Same Mark, New Result For Kameron Plyler In 3A High Jump

The UIL 3A boys high jump competition went back-and-forth before Vernon's Kameron Plyler finally secured the title by clearing 6-6 on his first attempt.

There were three competitors who were clean through 6-2: Joshua Cornelius of Great Hearts Northern Oaks, Devyn Hidrogo of Franklin and Camden Myers of Early. Cornelius stayed through 6-4 and 6-5 and held the lead over Plyler and Hidrogo when the bar went to 6-6. Plyler was successful while Cornelius and Hidrogo both went out and had to settle for the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Plyler previously qualified for the State meet in 2022 when he finished in fourth place in the high jump with the same 6-6 clearance.
