Moments after taking third in the 4x100-meter relay, Fort Worth Dunbar's Kalani Lawson found herself atop the podium for the second straight season in the 100-meter hurdles. This time, with a new Class 4A record.

With a time of 13.89, the junior broke her own record set last season. From the moment the gun went off, she jumped out in front of the field and was followed closely by a strong field. Falyn Lott of Frisco Panther Creek took second with a time of 14.03, just edging out Sunnyvale's Chiora Enyinna-Okeigbo by just .01 seconds.

4A Girls 300-meter hurdles

Falyn Lott defended her gold medal in the 4A Girls 300-meter hurdles and did so in dominant fashion. Enough to break the Class 4A record with a winning time of 41.76.

The Frisco Panther Creek senior was well ahead of the rest of the field after the first pair of hurdles and used a strong kick to set a new record. The USC commit left no doubt from the moment the gun went off.

Lexi Simmonds of Celina used a strong kick to steal the runner-up spot. The Celina junior was in the mix but was out of medal contention until the final straight away. She crossed with a time of 43.56.

Huffman Hargrave's Jade Williams was on the verge of claiming silver but held onto the bronze with a time of 43.62.
