3A Boys 110-meter hurdles

Hunter Vaughn (Pattonville) was the heavy favorite in this race, sitting in lane four with all of the rest of the field evenly split on both sides of him.

Vaughn was last year's runner-up in this event and had the fastest regional entry of 13.99 coming into the race.

Early on in the race, it was Dylan Foster (Brock) getting out to a quick start and leading through the first two hurdles. However, it would be Vaughn finding his rhythm and taking over the race.

He would continue to push until he crossed the line with another state championship and a time of 13.83.

Cash Goodman (Blue Ridge) would drop a swift 13.99 for third place overall.

3A Boys 300-meter hurdles

Three boys entered the race with 37-second regional performances with Dylan Foster (Brock) in 37.90 and Hunter Vaughn (Pattonville) and Aiden Martinez (Great Hearts Monte Vista) both running 37.98.

Cord Zamzow (Goliad) also had a 38.0 best on the season.

Over the first two hurdles it was Mitchell Nuziard (Mount Vernon) getting out to a fast start and making up the stagger.

However, in the hot lanes, it was Foster, Martinez, and Vaughn beginning to get things going. Foster and Martinez would really gain some daylight between them and the rest of the field.

In the end, it was the three favorites Foster (37.39) in first, Martinez (37.69) runner-up, and Vaughn (37.96) using their sub-38 speed to capture the medals.
