Freshman Girls Rankings  I  Freshman Boys Rankings

So, this is our fifth Future Stars article this season and several of the fastest young runners this year have already been acknowledged.

But not all of them!

This is a list of three freshman girls and boys who have also been impressive and most of them were impactful at the district level this past week.

Girls Future Stars

Olivia Laudicina (Austin Lake Travis)

The Lake Travis freshman ran a 18:12 in the early goings at the fast HaysCISD Cross Country Invitational.

She also has 18:37 and 18:44 runs this season for top finishes. She won the Islander Splash and was second at yesterday's UIL 6A - District 26 meet.

Taylor Synnott (Houston St. Johns)

Synnott has Zone and the SPC Championships coming up soon and she has established herself as one to watch.

She ran 18:33, 19:12, and 19:16 performances over 5,000m and just dropped a 12:00 in her first two-mile race of the season.

Jenna Moore (Waxahachie)

We've already chronicled how impressive Waxahachie freshman Reese Bartos has been this year. However, she isn't the only young Indian runner who crushing it.

She was third at the UIL 6A District-11 meet with a 18:29 PR. She also has 18:50 and 18:54 runs on the season.

Boys Future Stars

Riley McCain (Mansfield Legacy)

Of his seven races this year, McCain has been under 17:00 in six of them. That is impressive for a freshman.

A freshman in the varsity races in the DFW can be a double edged sword. It can be too daunting for some and rewarding at the same time. It has been rewarding and sharpening for McCain as he has run his best in the big races.

He just ran 16:08 for a one-second PR yesterday at the UIL 6A - District 03.

Valor Menn (Boerne)

As Boerne ramps up for another push for the podium at the state meet, they need all of the help they can get. They moved up from 4A to 5A and they just race a very competitive district race with Boerne Champion, a podium 5A team from last year.

In Menn, they have the boost they need to go with the gang they already had. He has four races 16:33 and under this year including a 16:32 from the McNeil Invitational and a 16:12 PR from this week's UIL 5A - District 26 race.

Reed Dodson (Southlake Carroll)

Carroll frosh Dodson has a bunch of guys on his team who are in front of him, including some in his own class, but that hasn't stopped him from catching our attention.

He started the season off with a 10:12 two-mile on the track in August and that was followed by a 16:17 at the Marcus Coach T XC Invitational and a 16:19 at the Southlake #1 XC Invite. He ran a 15:37 three-mile at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic.

The kid can run!
