Weekend Rewind: Key Track And Field Results From The Weekend




Weekend Rewind Feb 13-15

Girls

- In the sprints, it was Lancaster once again breaking out and looking like they were prepared for the start of the 2025 outdoor track and field season.

Lily Pierrot (Lancaster) was again one of the top performers in the 100m with her 11.69 run. Her teammate Saniyah Miller (Lancaster) showed her form that won her last year's UIL 5A 200m state title as she went 23.70. Celeste Robinson (Houston Cyp. Ranch) wasn't too far behind the pace with her 23.73 run.

- In the 400m, it was more Lancaster leading the way with Datavia Hunter (Lancaster) at 54.66 and Milan Lathan (Lancaster) at 54.91 both turning in the top two 400m runs.

- There were four girls who ran 2:13s in the 800m Hailey Johnson (Montgomery Lake Creek), Taryn Bailey (DeSoto), Adeline Bennett (Flower Mound), and Meredith Wolfe (Round Rock).

Rowan Saacke (Bridgeland) ran the top 1,600m mark in Texas with her 4:46.86 and Adeline Bennett (Flower Mound)  was the other sub 5:00 runner with a 4:52. Jamie Klander (Katy Mayde Creek) ran 10:52 and Katherine Valentine (League City Clear Falls) at 10:53 had the top two 3,200m runs.

- In the hurdles, it was Alivia Rivera-Norman (Odessa Permian) with a 14.09 and Adebola Iyiola (Richmond George Ranch) with a 43.74 hurdling to their leads. Phoenix Phillips (Humble Summer Creek) added 14.35 (into a -1.6 head wind) and 44.01 runs.

- In the relays, Lancaster stole the show this weekend with a TX No. 5 All-Time 4x100 relay performance of 44.84 to lead the way. Not to be lost in the all-time mark was Duncanville dropping an impressive 45.86 run of their own.

- In the 4x200 relay, Lancaster again had the top mark of 1:38.03 with Dickinson keeping pace with their run down in Houston with their 1:38.78.The Woodlands added their name to the short list of sub 3:50 teams on the season with their 3:48.83 run in the 4x400 relay.

- In the field events, it was Janey Campbell (Katy Seven Lakes) had the best throws this weekend in both throw events with her 45-3.25 and 154-7 and her teammate Carla Angueira-Colombani (Katy Seven Lakes) continues to dazzle in the jumps with her 19-6 in the long jump. In the triple jump, it was Shi-eana Hall (The Woodlands College Park) going 40-8.25.

- Four girls cleared the 5-8 bar with Kingwood teammates Savannah Byers (Kingwood) and Evan Giles (Humble Kingwood), Niomi Wines (Lubbock Cooper), and Brianna Rivers (Humble Summer Creek), all clearing it.

- In the pole vault, three girls went over 12-0 this weekend. Milla Signorelli (John Cooper School), Carla Angueira-Colombani (Katy Seven Lakes), and Breeana Borresen (Katy Cinco Ranch) all cleared the bar.

Lancaster's 4x100 relay squad who ran 44.84

Boys 

- In the 100m five boys who ran under 10.70 (no wind indicators) in the 100m and two boys who ran under 21.20 in the 200m (Justin Stewart, Ft Worth Arlington Heights was tops in both 10.56 and 21.04

- Braylin Byrd (Tomball Memorial) ran 10.59

- In the 800m, Heath Grant (Willis) once again led the state with the top 800m mark with a 1:52, 

DeVonte Taylor (Houston Episcopal) went 14.16 in the 110H for the top mark of the weekend

In the relays:

Fort Bend Marshall went 40.54 in the 4x100 relay, 1:25.45 in the 4x200 relay, and 3:15.29 in the 4x400 relay

- In the shot put: 

Desman Manuel (Cedar Hill) threw the shot put 62-2  

Adam Carter (Katy) right behind him in 62-1; also threw 193-0.75 in the discus

Travis Buhake (Mansfield Summit) flung it 61-7 193-0.75.

- It was a pretty good day in the long jump with five boys going 23-feet or better. 

Kash Moore (Katy Cinco Ranch) long jumped 23-11

DeVonte Taylor (Houston Episcopal) added 23-8 jump

 Isaiah Levingston (Waco) jumped 23-6

Angel Rodriguez (Sharyland Pioneer) 23-2

Jose Hernandez (Eagle Pass) lept 23-0

AJ Jenkins (Katy Mayde Creek) had another good day in the field leading the state two weeks in a row in the triple jump with a  47-8 and he added a 22-11 in the LJ.

Etoro Bassey (Katy Tompkins) once again was elite in the high jump with a 6-10 to follow up his 7-0 from last week. Landon Freeman (Jersey Village) was jumping bar-for-bar with Bassey at the Katy ISD Bubba Fife Relays and also went 6-10.

- In the pole vault, it was Robert Max Austin (Katy Seven Lakes) and Ben Haywood (Tomball Memorial) both going for the top mark in the state with their 15-6 clearances.
