Mia Maxwell demonstrates an emotional response to winning the 2025 UIL 6A 100m state championship
Humble Atascocita junior Mia Maxwell continues to shine in the 100 meters during a stellar 2025 track and field season. This past weekend, she delivered another elite performance at the Brooks PR Invitational, clocking a wind-legal 11.04 (+1.2), matching her time from last month's UIL Texas State Championships, where she also ran 11.04 with a +1.1 reading in Austin.
Both marks meet the Texas state record standard, and Maxwell has now equaled that benchmark twice-on two of the sport's biggest stages. What's most striking is her ability to deliver in high-stakes races. At the UIL state meet, she defeated athletes currently ranked No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 nationally. At Brooks PR, she went head-to-head with a loaded national field and beat sprinters ranked No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 9, and No. 13 in the U.S. Maxwell is not just consistent-she's rising to the occasion when it matters most.
