Police reports cited by KSAT 12 indicate the driver hit Barlow while turning onto Alamo Downs Parkway, noting that the area was dark at the time. The driver stayed at the scene and helped until paramedics arrived.
Northside ISD representative Barry Perez confirmed Barlow was taken to a local hospital for treatment. District officials emphasized that no students were with Barlow during the incident. As of Tuesday evening, police have not provided updates on his condition or announced any charges.
Barlow is a fixture in San Antonio distance running, having led the Holmes High School (San Antonio) cross country program since 1994. Under his leadership, the Huskies have captured 15 district titles across 5A and 6A and made regional championship appearances for over 20 consecutive years.
Our thoughts are with Coach Barlow, his family, and the entire Holmes community as everyone across Texas distance running hopes for a full and speedy recovery.
