The girls of Fayetteville-Manlius (N.Y.), known as Manlius XC here, came into Saturday’s Nike Cross Nationals girls’ championship race in Portland with six consecutive titles under their belt.  Yet, there were questions.  F-M had, at the Eastern States Championships in October, been beaten for the first time in any meet in six years (by Tatnall DE) – though F-M had been without its #1 Jillian Fanning.  Would they finally relinquish the NXN crown?  Who would beat them?

The south's top runners will head to McAlpine Greenway Park in Charlotte, North Carolina for the Foot Locker South Cross Country Championships. The top ten boys and top ten girls in the seeded race will advance to Foot Locker Nationals December 8th in San Diego, California.

Neale & Knight went 1 - 2  once again. Amy-Eloise Neale of Glacier Peak and Joe Hardy of Seattle Prep triumphed  at Eagle island on Saturday and headed a field, which qualified to race in Portland.  Here is an in depth looked at the race plus odds & ends from around the nation.
