Race format:
The race will be a relay format where each member of a 3 person relay team will run one 1.5 mile leg (for a total of 4.5 miles/team). The course is fairly difficult with hills and terrain, so 1.5 miles should be a great length for an early season meet. For those of you who want additional rigor, the ranch is allowing us access to their entire trail system until noon that day.

There will be four divisionsvarsity boys, varsity girls, JV boys, and JV girls. Depending on number of teams, we will also split by 1A-3A & private, and 4A/5A. Races begin at 7:30 a.m., with gates open at 6:30 am.

Additional Amenities:
Reveille Peak Ranch has over 30 miles of developed running trails with all levels of terrain. It has been host recently to Tejas Trails, Spartan, and the Rouge Trail Running series. Your race entry also gets your team unlimited access to trail running on the Saturday of the race, so you can add some pre-season training to your shortened race day.

The Ranch also has a wonderful pavilion and dock area for a team picnic after the race. All teams are welcome to use the facility free of charge. You will need to bring your own food and drink. For an additional fee ($10/person/night) you can also bring any or all of your team to camp at the ranch before or after the race. Visit www.rprtexas.com for all the details on the property.

Logistics:
You can use whatever you like for a baton just as long as it one item to be exchanged between team members. Racers will probably prefer flats to spikes for this course.

We will give medals out to the top three teams in each of the 1A-3A/private school division and the 4A-5A division for each level. There will not be any other official results or times recorded.
