Nike South Invitational 2014

Vandegrift is the fastest girl's returning 5A team, led by twins Natalie & Loren Goddard who posted times of 19:10 & 19:18 as freshmen. The varsity team has a strong group of girls, all with 5k times ranging within less than a minute of each other. The Vandegrift girl's team was last year's Region IV Champions, and finished 10th in the state.

Watch Pedro Nasta of John Cooper School in The Woodlands put down a nasty kick to pass David Strome in the final straightaway for a 15:32 5K win at the Nike South Invitational on Saturday, October 4th.    

Watch two of the best from the state of Texas in New Braunfels junior Paige Hofstad and Houston Lamar sophomore Julia Heymach battle for 3 loops around the Nike South Invite course on Saturday in The Woodlands. Hofstad, last year's Texas 5A state champ and #1 runner for a NXN qualifying squad, seems to be back to top form after an early season injury scare to win in 17:38 with Heymach in second at 17:49.
