Burroughs Invite 2020

Hosted by Cy-Fair and Langham Creek High Schools

We would like to invite you to the first annual Burroughs Invite hosted by Cy-Fair High and Langham Creek High Schools. All proceeds will be donated to their respective Booster Clubs. Under the 2020 UIL Guidelines we will only take an additional 6 schools this year. You will need to email me zane.penwell@cfisd.net to get the password if you are interested in participating.

Cost- $60.00 per team. (Boys and Girls team total cost $120.00)

Per Division

Location- Burroughs Park, 9738 Hufsmith Rd, Tomball TX 77375 (Trails are at the back of the park)

Distance- 3 miles (possibly 5k) all teams- The course is shaded the entire distance and consist mostly packed dirt and loose crushed asphalt. It is suitable for spikes. There are two long gradual hills which runners will go up and down once each way on the course. One and two mile markers are within 50 ft of each other. Viewing area for parents will be limited.

Schedule- We will follow the schedule below as closely as possible. There will be a remind link to join for updates and messages once your school is accepted. If weather or darkness becomes an issue we will go to a rolling schedule.

Sub-Varsity Girls: 3:00 PM (2 miles)

Sub-Varsity Boys : 3:30 PM

Varsity Girls- 4:00 PM

Varsity Boys- 4:30 PM

Gold Division- (Race is Full)

Varsity Girls: 5:00 PM

Varsity Boys: 5:30 PM

Teams not in the immediate race must wait and warm up by the Soccer Fields at the entrance to Burroughs Park. Once a race is complete, the runners should head back to camp and the next group may be brought up and dropped off. Please practice social distancing at all times among teams and individual runners on your team. Keep team tents at least 20 feet apart from another teams camp. Masks should be worn at all times when not exercising. No extracurricular equipment such as soccer balls or Frisbee's, etc. allowed. We are here to race as safely as possible.

Timing- RaceTab will be used and in addition finishing runners will be given a place card and will give it to their coach. Coaches will total the score and turn in for verification.

Awards:

Top ten finishers in all divisions will get medals.

1st place Team Plaque for Boys and Girls Varsity Division only.
