2023 HIGHLAND LAKES MIDDLE SCHOOL DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY MEET

DRIPPING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL

BUS PARKING:

All buses will be parked in the north Stadium parking lot (see map under Photos)

SPECTATOR PARKING:

All spectators may park in the Tiger Stadium parking lot just southwest of the track/stadium or in the north Baseball/Softball lot.

ATHLETES:

Each team may run an unlimited number of runners, however only the top 5 will count towards the team score. If there is a tie, the 6th, then 7th runners will break the tie. If agreed upon within the schools, a 7th grader may run up in order to complete a team for the 8th grade, but no 8th grade athlete may run down a division.

COURSE:

The course is 3200 meters. There are 2 loops that go north of the track stadium and loop behind the baseball and softball fields. At the conclusion of the 2nd large loop, the athletes will turn behind the track stadium and finish the last stretch into the finish on the grass field. There is some concrete on the course, so be cautious if wearing spikes.

WATER:

All athletes should bring their own refillable water bottle. Water will be available at the start line and finish line.

AWARDS:

Medals will be awarded to the top 10 individuals in each race. A team championship and team runner-up plaque will be awarded. Individuals will receive their medal as they cross the finish line. Team Awards will be announced after the conclusion of the 8th Grade Boys race.

Entries will open on Saturday, September 30th and close on Monday, October 2 @ 6:00pm. You will receive an official entry invite from the timing company on September 25. After the entry close date, you will receive another email confirming your entries. If you have any changes, you will notify our timing director at that time. If you don't know if an athlete will compete, please enter their name. Its easier to delete entries then to add them, last minute. All athletes will receive a racing bib to be worn on the front of the jersey. Timing will be automatic using FinishLynx cameras.

TEAM PACKETS:

Racing bibs and all team information will be found at the tent between the fieldhouse and track area. Please have athletes use 4 pins to secure their race bibs.

TEAM CAMPS

All teams will set up their camp areas on the track infield. Please help us enforce NO FOOD, DRINK (other than water), GUM OR SEEDS allowed on the turf. Please ensure your team cleans up at the end of the meet. A garbage bag will be provided with the team packets.
