WATCH: Liberty Hill Vs. Lampasas Episode II

This was the Lampasas Vs. Liberty Hill Episode 2. For the second straight qualifying meet in a row, these two relay teams have provided a show.

They have given the fans in their district and area a reason to stick around for the end of the meet like never before.

The 4x400 relay is strategically placed at the end of the meet for the excitement and drama it can bring to the closure of a meet. The anticipation for this race was like none other at the UIL 4A - District 27-28 Area Meet. That is due to the excitement generated from the district meet match up between Lampasas and Liberty Hill.

Heading into the UIL 27-4A District meet, Lampasas had just ran the top time in 4A at the Texas Relays with their 3:20.50. Liberty Hill didn't seem too impressed or scared of the competition as they were waiting for their chance to take that top ranking at the district meet.

And that, they did. The two Central Texas schools ran to UIL 4A #1 and #2 rankings in the 4x400 relay at district when Liberty Hill (3:19.53) edged out the victory over Lampasas  (3:19.61) and became Texas' top UIL 4A relay.

This week, Lampasas was able to tie up the qualifying round battle 1-1 with their narrow win at the Area meet.

With the two teams being in the same district, that means to go along with the district and area meets, they still have the region and state meets left to go before it is decided who is the best between the two and who the state champion between the two will be.

Up next, is the Region 4-4A meet at Texas A&M University - Kingsville, next weekend, where the two relay teams will get another shot at each other for the district title.

As they say in basketball...."Run It Back!"
