The sprints at this meet are no joke! All these races are stacked and have the ability to mixup the state and national rankings. This race features some star athletes with 2014 State Champ Darrion Flowers, who focused on the 200m this outdoor season and is now back to show off his 100m speed. The rising sprint star Ian Braxton from Marcus returns to a big meet after performing well in the Pre Classic. UT-Arlington signee Deontre Haynes will look to post some fast times as he prepares for his collegiate track career. Flying under the radar is Desoto’s Trevin Chambers. A late season injury took him out from a chance to compete at State, but he was running some of the fastest times in Texas up to that point and could be posed for a big comeback here.

What To Watch:
This distance is the stronger event for Ian Braxton, but he’ll have plenty of competition including McKinney North grad Anthony Grogan, who had a killer end to his outdoor season. Chambers, Haynes, and Mitchell should all make it to the final where we will some serious fast times and see how many guys run under 21.50.

What To Watch:
The question here is will anyone break 47s in the final? One athlete with a good shot with a competitive field will be Dallas Skyline junior Jostyn Andrews. He’s been consistently running 47s since District, and won the SW JO qualifier in 47.4. We could see some fast athletes miss out on the 17-18 final with a large group seeded under 50s. Including some very legit 400 runners Desmond Jefferon, Brenden Wallace, and Ryan Chaplin.
Plano sophomore Charles Brockman finished 4th in this event at State, and should be able to dominate the 15-16 age group. The 17-18 race will be wide open. Bryce Douglas has been running well in the post season meest, and after an injury before State, Tyler Guillory is back in action, finishing just one spot away from making the World Youth team last week. Caleb Richmond has been posting fast hurdles times all summer, and Xavier Jackson could challenge these guys for a top podium spot.

What To Watch:
Again, Charles Brockman should dominate the 15-16 race. The 17-18 boys should be able to push each other to fast times. Bryce Douglas and Caleb Richmond come in ranked TX #3 & TX #5 with virtually identical season best times that place them in the US Top-20. This is a stronger hurdle distance for both Xavier Jackson and Ardran Carr who will look to match the top athletes running under 54s. With Tyler Guillory thrown into the mix, this group of 5 guys all rank in theTX Top-10 and could see some new PRs from the final.
