Girls 100m |
What To Watch: |
These ladies have a lot of speed, and don’t discount the 15-16 girls who can have a solid group running under 12s. The 17-18 field will be flying! Kaylor Harris is coming back from a late outdoor season injury, and races in Chicago at the World Youth Trials. Speaking of the Trials, Kira White also journeyed north last week and made it to the 100m final. Looking at this field with other athletes like Jernaya Sharp, Essance Sample, Charity Thomas, and Alexis Franks, just making the final is going to be a challenge. |

Girls 200m |
What To Watch: |
The speed in the boys sprints is very heavily focused in the 17-18 age group, but the girls have a more even split. Just like the 100m, we could see some of the fastest overall times come from the 15-16 ladies. Rising Alvin youngster Kynnedy Flannel will look to mix it up with the State’s best and improve on her 24.4 PR from her Region Meet prelims. Another great feature of the summer track meets is seeing athletes compete from the different Texas Leagues. Jaevin Reed now toes the line with some of the top UIL sprinters. Reed was the 5A TAPPS State Champ, and is coming off a 24.4 at the SW JO qualifier. She’ll have to beat out Kira White who has the ability to win both sprinting events, and athletes like Jordanae Scott who won the 100m&200m at the AAU Region 18 National Qualifier over the weekend. |

Girls 400m |
What To Watch: |
It will be a battle all week to see if the 15-16 or 17-18 ladies come away with the fastest times. Diana Granados and Whitney Williams have the fastest seed times as the only athletes under 56. Jaevin Reed has a good shot at a win in this event, though the 17-18 final should be a very tight race. |

Girls 100H |
What To Watch: |
We could see a teammate sweep in these events with Javlyn Cameron & G’Auna Edwards in the 15-16 age group. Edwards is coming off a big weekend at AAU Region 17 where she won the Heptathlon in a TX #3 4276. With the 17-18 hurdles, Kaylee Hinton hits the track after winning the Jr Outdoor Nationals Heptathlon in a US #1 5245. She and teammate Jernaya Sharp will be favorites to go 1-2 in this final. |

Girls 400H |
What To Watch: |
After racing the 300H all season, we’re finally getting some 400H times into the rankings. There’s no dominant athlete here on the girls’ side. Jamira Patterson and Mackenzie Frank currently sit at TX #6 & TX#7. |
