Boys 5A and Under Recap

The boys 5A and under varsity race was was take out hard by Frisco Liberty's Josh Akin, he was the lone leader thought the mile. He was followed by a pack of four guys Lee Ryan and Nicholaus Noguez, from Wylie High, and Ryan Mickus from Wichita Falls Rider. Akin kept the lead all the way through the the two mile and to the finish. The pack behind Akin strung out only a little bit at the two mile with the guys from Wylie leading the way. Around two and a half miles Mickus made a move to come from behind and pull a head of Nicholaus and Ryan to finish second. Nicholaus and Ryan from Wylie finished third and fourth running only two seconds apart.
Team Recap:
The team race was won in the strong chase pack. The guys from Wylie High had three strong runners altogether within the top 10 though the mile. The next pack through the mile consisted of several Greenhill runners including Daniel Brickman and Matthew Zweig. By two miles Wylie's third man Jeremiah Porter had fallen slightly off the lead chase pack but still stayed in range to finish top ten. With three runners finishing in the top 10 and their fourth and fifth men finishing in the top 20 Wylie High cruised to victory scoring 43 points. They were followed by Greenhill who scored 100 points. Close behind was Frisco Wakeland who finished third with 118 points.
