What to Watch This Weekend!

Mansfield Invitational

The team to watch in the girls race will be the squad from Flower Mound lead by freshman Anastaysia Davis. They have won several invitationals this year when they've ran their A squad, including the Flower Mound Invitational, the McKinney Boyd Meet and the Plano ISD Invite. Just last weekend they finished sixth in the loaded field at McNeil. The Keller squad is resting their A team this week in preparation for districts, or else they would be a team who could give Flower Mound a run for their money. In the individual race Forney's Lauryn Barrientos ran a great race last weekend at the McNeil Invitational and will look to get the win this weekend inn Mansfield. She will have tough competition from Arlington Martin's Ashley Johnson. Johnson won both the 19th Annual Ken Gaston XC Invitational and Marcus II Invitational this year. She ran her PR of 17:58 last year at this race.

On the guys side were going to see a showdown between several teams including Flower Mound, Arlington Bowie, Keller Central, Keller Timber Creek and Plano West. The guys from Arlington Bowie have been on a roll winning the Prowl in the park invitational and dominating the Garey Horner Invitational before that with an almost perfect sweep. Most recently they placed 2nd to Duncanville by only a handful of points at the 19th Annual Ken Gaston XC Invitational. The guys from Plano West finished runner up last week to The Woodlands at Nike South. In the individual race we will see a battle between Keller Central sophomore Eric Casarez as well as the twins Jaron and Jared Hamilton from Arlington Bowie. Timber Creek's Kristian Ramirez and Keller Central's Micah Langat will also be in the mix.
