Sean Hooper just graduated from Keller Fossil Ridge. This weekend, Hooper was finally back on the track. At the AAU Southwestern District Qualifier, to compete in the 800m and the 400m. Hooper also won the 400m at the USATF and AAU National Championship meets, last year in Humble, Texas. This season, he won the UIL 6A 200m and was the runner-up in the 400m. Watch Sean Hooper keep his season going in the AAU season as well at Brooks next week. Using the meet as training for Brooks PR, Hooper appears to be back to training mode.
Jake Merrell of Turkey Valley also competed in two events at the AAU Southwestern District Qualifier. Merrell took to the track in both the 800m and 1600m. This year at the UIL 1A meet, Merrell won the distance triple crown with firsts in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m. Merrell also looked to use the races as part of his training phase as he will compete next week at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championships.
