The First Two Days At NBNO Were A Lone Star Show

Another constant in Texas over the last three or so years has been JALEN SEALS. Seals has been the measuring stick in the boys jumps and has been a national figure. This weekend was no different at NBNO. Seals took second with a 50-4.75 jump. It took a 50-6 to take him down, but not before he represented his home state with pride. The future Baylor star will soon be taking on the NCAA competition.

Sticking with the triple jump, we can't over look the girls. How could we with the tremendous Texas athletes. Texas sent several jumpers to NBNO and they all represented very well. Led by the nation's #1 triple jumper JASMINE MOORE, the Texas girls put on a show. Moore extended her sophomore national class record with a 43-7.25. That amazing jump also gave her the top national spot previously held by Virginia's TITIANA MARSH at 43-5. Moore and Marsh went head to head with Moore getting the win and the top national spot.

Also turning in a great performance was UIL 6A state champ KYNDAL MCKNIGHT. McKnight came away with a fourth place finish with her 41-1.75 jump. If McKnight could have found her rhythm there could have been a Texas 2 step taking first and second. Junior SYMONE WASHINGTON put in a top ten performance with her 40-7.5 for a new PR. ARIELLE MACK also got into the Texas showdown with her 39-1 performance.
