Name: Ashlynn Hillyard
School: Plano
Graduation Year: 2019
Hillyard was absolutely on a mission last season. As a junior, she quickly let the state know that she was for real. She dropped a 17:40 in the first meet and then a 17:20 in her second meet, which led to the win at the illustrious Marcus I Invitational.
That start eventually led to a third place finish at the UIL 6A state meet. After that, Hillyard ran at both NXR south and Foot Locker South regional meets. She placed fourth and qualified for NXN and was 11th missing qualifying for foot locker by one place.
She went on to race at NXN and finished with a very good and tough 28th place in Oregon.
From there, Hillyard took out her wrath on the track. She went absolutely crazy dropping PRs all over the track. She went 2:21.66, 4:57.19, and 10:35.23 and a 3rd place finish in the 3200m at the UIL 6A state track meet.
However, she wasn't finished as she dropped a 17:05.72 in the 5K at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
Hillyard is tough and she is national level tested in both track and cross. The girl will be the real deal once again this cross country season.
