Boerne Champion Girls
The Boerne Champion girls out ran every team at the Vista Ridge XC Invitational. The one thing that verifies their performance is the fact that they finished just ahead of a very tough Smithson Valley team. Champion out scored SV by a slim four point margin 57 -61. However, that isn't the only validation for the team as they ran to a 20:48 5K team average and did so with a 39 second 1-5 split.
Katie Houck, Kate Williams, and Kelsie Vicknair ran as the top three for the Chargers and they led the team with efficiency. The trio had less than a three second split amongst themselves. The #4 came in about 12 seconds behind them and the #5 and #6 runners were a little bit further back, but still ran close to each other with only four seconds between them.
I know it's week one and being nick picky, but if the Chargers can get the back end closer to the front end, then Boerne Champion could be a factor in 2018.
