Molly Haywood (Tomball Memorial) is enjoying a good start to her junior track and field season. She is doing so following the momentum she generated last year in her first high school outdoor season.
Haywood won the Region 2-6A pole vault championship, qualifying her to the UIL 6A state meet. After the state meet, she would go on to win the USATF Colorado Outdoor Championships and finish runner-up at the AAU Junior Olympics Games.
With seven jumps over 13-0 last outdoor season, Haywood already has three indoor meets where she has jumped over 13-0.
She is now preparing for the Millrose Games in New York City this weekend.
