Panhandle and Haskell Dominate The 2A Girls Relays

4x100 relay

Shiner was the defending champion running in lane 7 this year. 

Haskell and Chilton got the first exchange and it was even at the second exchange. Haskell as the reigning bronze medalist and also had the fastest time coming in to today's race. 

Haskell had a nice lead at the last exchange and then opened it up to cross first for the Gold with a time of 49.44. It was Haskell from start to finish.

Bremond captured the Silver medal with a time of 49.80 and Shiner won the Bronze with a time of 49.89.

4x200 relay


After capturing the bronze in the 4x100, Shiner looked to better their success in the 4x200. However,  Haskell and Panhandle took things to the wire.

After claiming the silver medal in 2021, Haskell was determined to find the top of the podium. They were unable to find the upper ground but their anchor, Savanna Camacho, pulled away with a strong finish to give them the victory with a time of 1:42.58 to win the title.

Panhandle managed to hang on to claim the silver medal with a time of 1:46.09. Shelbyville beat out Lovelady for the final spot on the podium with a strong finish and final time of 

The Haskell girls won the 4x100 and the 4x200 relays

4x400 relay

Defending gold medalist Panhandle was in lane 4 and defending silver medalist Haskell was in lane 5 looking to make a repeat of last year. Panhandle came into the state meet with the fastest qualifying time from regionals with a time of 3:58.72.

Panhandle made the first exchange followed closely by Haskell. Panhandle never slowed down on the second leg and maintained their lead. Panhandle handed off first with Haskell right behind and Shiner staying in the mix in 3rd place. 

Panhandle and Haskell neck and neck after the 3rd exchange both teams wanting this title bad. Panhandle handed off first with Haskell in second a repeat of last year. Were we in a time loop or what?

It was six teams fighting it our for third down the backstretch as Panhandle and Haskell had already wrapped up their places. Panhandle crossed first with a time of 3:55.79,  Haskell was right behind for the silver with a time 4:00.37, and Goldthwaite captured the bronze with a time of 4:03.78.

Panhandle captured a new conference 2A Record this year which they set last year and kept their dominance alive.
