Episode 3 of Valley Talk brings the conversation we had with Sharyland head coaches Melissa Dearth and Jorge Guerra.

Coach Dearth's Sharyland girls have been running strong in the early stages of the 2022 cross country season. After an eighth place finish at the 2021 UIL Cross Country State Championships. They graduated three seniors from that state meet squad including their former No. 1 runner Danielle Salinas.

Once again viewed as the top team in South Texas, and they have been more than holding their own this season, Coach Dearth talks about her squad and their season goals.

The Sharyland boys are looking to have a good season of their own, and they are doing a good job at it. Coach Guerra shares the mindset of his boys and how the season is in full-on mode after a loss in week one.

The boys finished second to Laredo Nixon three weeks ago, but have been untouchable in the last two weeks. They know the rest of Region 4-5A teams are looking to close the gap and they're working hard to keep a stride on the field.
