Girls 100m

Anna Hudson a senior from Miami in lane 6 was your defending gold medalist, Alliyah Harrison a senior from Veribest had the fastest qualifying regional time coming in with a 12:40.

It was a clean start but it was hot and heavy from start to finish. The girls were pretty even but the freshman from Loop Kamryn Dyck was battling it out through the first 70 meters with Harrison.

Dyck leaned across the line to capture her second gold medal of the day with her first one coming earlier in the day in the long jump. She finished with a time of 12:59. Hudson was barely nudged out and received the silver with a time of 12:60 while Harrison came across in third place with a time of 12:66.

In lane 6 was senior Alliyah Harrison bronze medalist, a senior from Veribest looking to add a gold to go along with her bronze from the 100m. Harrison also had the fastest seed time out of regionals coming in with a time of 59:31.

We had a clean and fair start to the race with Harrison in the middle of the track. You could see she was fast making up ground at the 200 mark and was in the lead setting her sights to the finish line.

And with 100 to go she turned on the jets to take a commanding lead with the rest of the pack chasing her to see who would stand on the podium with her.

Harrison crossed first with a time of 58.69, while Jaden Baxter a freshman from Knox City captured the silver with a time of 59.89 and Ava Hawkins a sophomore from Gordon came in third place with a time of 59.99.

Girls 200m

Anna Hudson, a senior from Miami in lane 4 was your gold medalist from last year while Alliyah Harrison a senior from Veribest was the bronze medal winner from last year and lined up in lane 6. Harrison had the fastest time from regionals coming in with a time of 25.71.

Unfair start was called after the girls were about 20m into the race and the starter shot the gun to call them back. Aleigha Hartsfield, a junior from Pettus in lane 7 was then disqualified. Conference among the officials held up the 2nd start to this race as the girls waited patiently on the line.

Good start this time and was pretty even through 100. Hudson and Harrison were close to each other pushing the field until Harrison hit that next gear and crossed the finish line first with a time of 25.90. Hudson came up a bit short and finished in second place with a time of 26.26. Audrey Tillman, a senior from Mertzon Irion County captured the bronze with a time of 26.70.
