The Texas Gatorade Runner of the Year has been finalized for the XC season. The two well deserving honorees are Carter Blunt & Paige Hofstad.
Carter Blunt had a breakout XC season where he was undefeated in the state of Texas. He ran well in both NXN & Footlocker nationals as he completed the double finishing in the Top-20 each time. Testing each race gauging which suites him best to take on in his final season next year.

Both athletes had outstanding XC seasons. They both made the trip to NXN & Footlocker, rare to see that from the Top Male & Female runner from the same state.
Paige Hofstad finished 2nd at the State Championship, then channeled that into a series of very impressive performances to wrap up her season. She finished 2nd to Allie Ostrander, who looked untouchable at NXN, then Hofstad finished 4th a week later in a very deep field at Footlocker Nationals.
