Girls 100m

State of the Action: Invasion from the Sunshine State! It will take a big race for anyone to challenge the 2014 Champ&NBNI 60m Champ Teahna Daniels. Though her closest competition may come from her own state with Khalifa St. Fort who is the only other athlete entered running under 11.70 this season.
But don't count out the crew from Texas. This is the most competitive meet of the season and every athlete will want to cross that finish line first.

FL Insight:A familiar face in the girls 100m dash is defending champion Teahna Daniels. The First Academy senior will run on familiar turf after committing to the University of Texas earlier in the year. Daniels who celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, is the reigning 1A state champion in the 100 and 200m dash and was second at the Adidas Grand Prix Dream 100 and boasts the top time in the country at 11.60. She is coming off a very successful indoor season that saw her post US#1 times in the 55 and 60m dash and be dubbed the short sprint queen in route to a NBNI Indoor Championship last weekend. Interestingly enough, Daniels was the only one to beat Kaylin Whitney in her high school career and she did it twice. Whitney, who recently turned pro and signed with Nike and will make her debut in the 4x100m relay with her Star Athletics teammates.

Coach Argro: I never set goals for cause u never know what teahna will come to run. All I do is prepare them and let them run. I am very excited though to see what my nephew (Jahquez Durham) will do.

Girls 100H

State of the Action: The girls hurdles will be awesome races to watch! A bunch of very closely matched athletes ready to go head ot head. Marshall & Gonzalez ran well indoors and carried that momentum into the start of their outdoor season, though Gonzalez really excells in the 300H.

Can't ignore the depth from Hallandale, with the FL team bringing two girls currently in the US Top-5. We could potentially see 1-2 team sweeps on the boys and girls side.

Alexis Duncan grabbed the 3rd place spot at NBNI in the 60H, and now really starts to get her outdoor season underway.

Girls 300H

State of the Action: Who's amped up to watch the US #1 & US #2 to race head to head!! Gonzalez vs Rushing showdown should be an epic race to watch! Gonzalez hit her US #2 last weekend running solo, it will be exciting to watch her in a race with another athlete that can push her to the line!

The gap back to the rest of the athletes is pretty substantial behind the two All-Stars, but at a meet like Texas Relays anything can happen.
