Binta Ka was the girls winner at tonights Flyin' Hawk Early Bird invitational
As we all know XC season is upon us, and if you didn't know the Flyin' Hawk Early Bird invitational was tonight! On the guys side Mansfield's Ryan Sterling won the 3200m race with a time of 10:27.84, only two seconds ahead of the 2nd place Greg Fehribach (10:29) from Richland. Both Sterling and Fehribach are juniors. Rounding out the top thee was senior Louis Bolander of Richland who ran a 10:39. Although Richland had two guys in the top three, the guys from Duncanville took the win scoring 37 points, while Richland came in a close second with 40 points.
On the girls side sophomore Binta Ka got the individual win finishing the 3200m corse in 11:32.84. Right on her heals was Denae Chapman from West Texas A&M who ran a 11:33. In third place the only other runner to break 12 minutes was Mansfield High sophomore Alessia William (11:52). The girls team race was won by Mansfield High who scored 24 points placing 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8! Full results in the links below.
