Abby Gray Commits to The University of Arkansas!
According to the Alamo Heights High School twitter account, Alamo Heights senior Abby Gray has verbally committed to run at the University of Arkansas. The senior was the state champ last year in both the 1600m running 4:57 and 3200m running 10:44. She then followed up that performance with a win and a 4:56 PR at the TTFCA Meet of Champions. Gray has been no stranger to high level of competition. She is a multiple time sate meet qualifier in both track and cross country. Last fall at the UIL State Cross Country Championship she finished 12th running 19:17. She then went on to run at both Nike Cross Nationals South Regional and Foot Locker South Regional where she qualified for nationals in both. At Foot Locker she finished 36th running 19:26 and at NXN she finished 83rd running 19:01. So far this season Abby has only lost to Ashton Endsley and Paige Hofstad, raking her 4th on the Texas SauconyFlo50 list. Most recently Gray won the District 27-5A meet running 17:18. She will be competing next at the Region 4-5A meet in Corpus Christi.
