Girls 6A Region 1 Virtual Meet

This is again a loaded Region on the girls side with several of the state's top ranked teams all competing in Lubbock.
Marcus
One word...undefeated. So far this year, the girls from Marcus have not lost a race when they've run the entire varsity squad (granted they've only ran three races...but still). At McNeil they had a strong win over a loaded field, placing 4 in the top 20 and grasping the win by over 30 points! After finishing runner up to Hebron at last year's state meet, they've had a fire under them to make it back to take the crown.
Southlake Carroll
Could this be the team to take down Marcus? Earlier this year in a head to head battle at Marcus I, Marcus bested them by 6 points. The dragons have looked stronger as the season's gone on. At the Asics Clovis Invitational, they placed 3rd in a talented field which had Nationally ranked Saucony Flo50 #2 Great Oak girls. At districts, they swept the top 1-7 spots with only a 15 second 1-5 split. It's going to be an exciting showdown between Southlake and Marcus.
Keller
The young Keller squad is looking strong after dominating the District 5-6A championship meet. They placed five in the top ten and four in the top five! They won scoring 20 points and beating the next closest team by 33 points. Earlier this year, they had a win over Hebron at the Southlake Carroll Invitational.
Lewisville Hebron
The returning state champs proved they have a strong one-two punch with Anna Elkin and Abby Riordan running 2-3 in the loaded District 6-6A meet. The team has run strong all year and will look to challenge for a bid to the state meet again in 2015.
****Other teams to watch will be Flower Mound and the Abilene squad led by US #20 Ashton Endsley.
