So yesterday we looked at why NXN South should be NXN Texas based on teams that have made it from the South Region. Today we broke down the numbers based on individuals who have made it from the South region over the years.
The first time individuals were added in to NXN was in 2008 when they switched over to the region system (taking 2 teams and 5 individuals from each region). Since 2008, there have been four NXN individual champions from Texas. The four NXN champions were, Reed Connor and Chelsey Sveinsson in 2008, Craig Lutz in 2009, and Rachel Johnson in 2010. Out of all the years individuals have been taken from NXN South, only seven individuals from other states have made it to NXN. The highest non Texas qualifier at NXN was Alexandra Davis, from Plainview (OK) who finished 37th in both 2011 and 2012. Texas athletes have swept the top three spots at NXN South every year except 2011 when Plainview (OK) Alexandra Davis, snuck into 3rd. Take a look below at the top three finishers from each year as well as how the top five individual finishers faired at NXN. The facts below are just another addition to why NXN South should/could be NXN Texas. #TexasForever.

Other Fun Facts:

Out of the four champions all have been from different schools.
