Aaliyah Miller is competing this weekend at the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays in the 400m and the 4x400m relay.

Texas MileSplit: What are you looking forward to most about this weekend's match-up/races? As more of a mid-distance runner are you ready to take on the 400m field this weekend?

Aaliyah Miller: I am pumped to be running my first 400's of the season! I feel that my training has been solid the past couple of weeks and I can't wait to see what I will run.

Texas MileSplit: What race are you looking forward to the 400m or the 4x400m and why?

Aaliyah MillerThe 400 this weekend is stacked with lots of talented girls, and I have a feeling that it's going to be a really good race! Also running with my future teammate Jhané is gonna be awesome!

Texas MileSplit: How are you preparing for this meet? Are you doing anything different? What are some of your workouts this week?

Aaliyah Miller: My training is still the same, Coach Keahey has been preparing me well for this meet. I've been doing lots of interval and speed workouts to help with the 400.

Texas MileSplit: Last year we saw an impressive race in the 4x400m, where you pulled your team to a 3rd place. What are yours and your teams goals this year with a another stacked field?

Aaliyah MillerThere are a lot of talented teams that are invited to the Jesuit meet and I'm excited to see how we all match up! I'm happy with how well my teammates have worked leading up to this meet. The goal is always to run faster than the previous year, but right now I'm just anxious to see what we'll run!

Texas MileSplit: Do you feel any added pressure being the meet record holder in the 400m?

Aaliyah MillerI try to not let the pressure get to me, and just focus on the race I have in front of me. With the 400 having such a stacked field, I don't have a doubt that it's going to be broken!
