Salute to Seniors: Quenten Lasseter

Athlete: Quenten Lasseter

1. What was your most memorable race/moment?
My most memorable race was this past cross country season at District. Before the race I was just thinking that I was going to get 2nd but something crazy happened and next thing I knew I won.

2. Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
My biggest competition was defiantly my teammate Johen DeLeon. He would beat me and I would beat him. It was very fun, love that guy to death.

3. What was your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was getting 10th place at the XC State Meet this past year. Bringing home a medal was a great feeling.

4. If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?
I wouldn't change anything at all. I leave my high school running career with no regrets.

5. What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
I had a tad foot injury in September. I was scared to miss time off running and lose my fitness, but I over came it and a week later I ran a PR.

6. What will you miss the most?
I'll miss my teammates most of all.

7. What advice would you give to younger athletes?
To always remember that in this sport you get out what you put in.

8. What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?
He is a huge influence. To know he is always there for me is great.

9. What are your college plans?
I will be running cross country and track this upcoming fall at Tarleton State University.

10. Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?
I'd like to saythank you to my parents for all the support throughout the ups and downs.

11. Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Tarleton is on the come up, Don't Sleep.

12. What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?
The funniest thing was at the Nike South meet. My teammate was running right next to me then out of nowhere he fell right into a huge mud hole and I remember him saying this to me when he was going down, "It's over"
