Who: East Bernard, Holliday, Eustace, Whitesboro
Why: The Girls 3A meet will be a heck of a race. In 2014, Eustace won the title with East Bernard placing second. Last year, it came down to East Bernard squeaking out an 88-90 victory over Holliday with Eustace in third. In 2015, East Bernard was led by individual champion Jessica Rabius,. With Rabius out all of this season due to an injury, this squad is led by Liz Guerra and Jillian Hlavinka. They will lead Region 3-3A Champions East Bernard on their quest for another championship, but they will have to battle Region 2-3A Champions Eustace again. Don't count out Whitesboro who placed second behind Eustace in the Region 2-3A meet.
Individuals: A new individual champion will no doubt be crowned. With Guerra out, it will come down to her East Bernard teammate Liz Guerra and Eustace's Chanda Westbrook. Westbrook has an XC PR of 12:15 and placed fifth in the 2015 race. Her 11:40 track PR means she has the wheels to turn it up if the competition takes it there. Guerra is coming off of a fifth place Regional finish, but has a season best of 12:20 and a PR of 12:05 from her sophomore season when she finished fourth at State.
