Foot Locker South Regional: Texas Takeover!

On the boys side, is where it got real interesting for Texas. The boys race was led by Raleigh, NC star Connor Lane. Knowing that only the top ten get to move on to Nationals, you could see the Texas boys hovering in the top pack most of the race. As the race progressively neared the end, you could see the guys putting themselves in good position. Over the last 200m, Lane was still the leader and there were 11 boys vying for the top ten places. However, that is when the last Lone Star boys saved their best moves. Led by Mr. 1:50 800m speed AKA Sam Worley, the Texas crew pushed to the line. Worley took the lead from Lane and a barrage of Texans pushed for their place in the top ten. Super Sophomore Alex Maier from Flower Mound, Daniel Viegra of Pflugerville Henderickson, Southlake Carroll's Reed Brown, and Freshman Graydon Morris of Aledo joined Worley to make it to Nationals. If the meet was scored by state, the Texas boys would have won with a whopping low 21 points.
