Will We See A Sub 4:00 1600m?

Reed Brown defends his 3200m title

So, the day is here. What day is that? The day we say good bye to some of the best Texas' distance running classes in some time. However, hopefully this class will leave us with the best 1600m race of Texas UIL history.

There are at least three guys in the field that are capable of running under 4:00 today. Southlake Carroll senior REED BROWN has already repeated in the 3200m will come in fresh and primed to put on a show. Pflugerville's DANIEL VIEGRA took fourth in the 3200m yesterday, is coming off a a superb 1 mile run last week, at the Schrader Mile. Also in the race, will be the Texas 1600m leader SAM WORLEY. Worley will be coming off of an open 800m race where he will test all of his energy systems in order to get a win. However, he is used to it, but some how I don't think the other guys in the field will care much either way.

All three guys have sub 4:10 1 mile races on the books this season including the historic Texas Relays performance by Worley and Brown.

Watch as we may see the best 1600m race in Texas history.
