Some of the top NXR South region girls competed earlier this year at the Lovejoy Fall Festival

So, I think the parity we saw in the boys 2023 NXR South race is what we could possibly see in the girls 2024 race. Texas has historically dominated the region both individually and in the team race, but things could change this year.

Elizabeth Leachman (Boerne Champion) is the reigning and defending South Region champion. It is still uncertain whether she'll compete as she told TX MileSplit that she was 50/50 last week on whether she'd run in the post season or sit it out. Nevertheless, with or without her, it will be quite the race. If she is in, she definitely changes the daynamics.

The AAA 6A state champion Lilly Beshears (Rogers) has the second best time in the region. Her 16:40 run from the Chile Pepper XC Festival leads all runners not named Leachman.
