At the Assault of Eagle Summit in Decatur, TX the home team stood tall in both the Men's and Women's 5A - 6A Varsity races.  The Decatur Eagles held off challenges from Denton Guyer, Lewisville and Whitesboro to win both divisions.

In the women's race both Decatur and Denton Guyer had 4 runners in the top 10 but a first place finish by Decatur Sr. Lacy Butler and third place Sr. Elizabeth Culpepper propelled the Eagles to 33 points over Denton Guyer's 42.  Lewisville had two runners in the top five with Sr. Claire Marrone coming second and Jr. Cesilla Santos finishing fifth.  The Farmers ended up with 48 points.

In the Men's 5A-6A race Decatur face a tougher challenge as the Lewisville men's team came to race.  With Lewisville Jr. Juan Martinez finishing first overall and Jr. Tyler Hopkin finishing third the Farmer's looked poised to claim the title.  A strong Decatur team came in fourth, fifth and sixth with Senior Alan Rangel leading the charge followed by Sophomores Triston Read and Gabriel Embree.

Whitesboro Junior Michael Urbina got second overall in the race and led his team to a very close third place finish.  Max Merlyn, Preston Garrett of Whitesboro and Nicholas Williams, Christian Cruz of Founders Classical Academy rounded out the top ten.  Decatur edged the Fighting Farmers 45 to 48 and Whitesboro scored 53 points for third.
