Last year, Bayleigh Minor ran a Texas No. 2 All-Time 53.05 last year in the 400m
The 400m is one of the strongest indoor events for the state of Texas on both the girls and boys sides. Without the 4x200 relay being a serious event in the southern states, the 400m get the numbers in terms of competitors.
Last year, there were five girls who ran 55.05 and faster with two girls running 53.0. The boys saw eight boys run 48.6 and under with two boys running in the 47s.
This year, two of the three girls return with 55.0 performances and better. Already this season, before the new year, Datavia Hunter (Lancaster) has dropped a 56.0 and Caila Lyons (San Antonio Brennan) has gone 56.64 coming fresh off the XC season.
