Brown went on to become the first Texas high school runner to break 4:00 in the mile with his 3:59.30 and Worley ran 4:00.61 and both guys ran 4:02 in the 1600m at state with Worley breaking the state record. All three guys graduated and have moved onto the NCAA.
This year, several other runners will be getting their crack at becoming Texas' best and continuing to move it forward to the national spotlight. There is no shortage of capable runners and it's possible that Prendeville could be the one.
At the Arkansas High School Invitational, Prendeville ran an indoor PR with his 4:19.47 win. The Texas commit threw up the Hook em Horns as he crossed the line in excitement. There could be quite a few instances of this throughout the season as Prendeville has the right combination of strength and speed. His ability to handle fast paces and finish strong could be what sets him a part this season.
This cross country season, Prendeville had his best season thus far. He cut his 5K PR down by 27 seconds when he ran 15:31.50 and earned his first trip to the UIL 6A state meet.
